They would examine how an employment relationship works in practice between a person and a business.<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, HM Revenue and Customs may also regard a person as self-employed for tax purposes. You relinquish some rights to own at least \u00a32,000 worth of shares in your employer&#8217;s company.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"list-content\">\n<h5>Self-employed and Contractor<\/h5>\n<p><strong>SELF EMPLOYED CONTRACTORS<\/strong>: Having <a href=\"\/rules\/employment\/employing\/contracts\/employment-status\/self-employed-and-contractor\/\">self-employed status<\/a> means you do not have an employment contract with an employer.
