LICENCE REVOKED?<\/strong> This section explains how to apply for your driver’s licence if it got taken away (revoked).<\/p>\n

You will get a letter from the DVLA if they take away your licence. The same applies if you must surrender it or they refuse an application for a driving licence.<\/p>\n

The DVLA letter will have information on how long you must wait before applying for a new licence.<\/p>\n

Note<\/strong>: Once you receive the letter from the DVLA you can reapply eight (8) weeks before the end of the stated period.<\/p>\n

Reapply for a Car or Motorcycle Licence<\/h5>\n

You need to complete a D1 application form to reapply for a licence following a health condition. You must also send the correct form that relates to the particular health condition<\/a> that you have. Send both forms together to the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency.<\/p>\n

In some cases, you will need to provide evidence of your fitness to drive. Check the information stated about this in the letter from the DVLA.<\/p>\n

Note<\/strong>: You can order DVLA forms online<\/a> or get them from a Post Office. Your doctor must support your request to get your driving licence back. Thus, you must meet the medical standards for driving a vehicle.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

Reapply for a Bus, Coach, or Lorry Licence<\/h5>\n

The process of reapplying for a bus, coach, or lorry licence uses a different document. Complete a D2 application form with the relevant form for your medical condition. Send both forms to Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency address in Swansea.<\/p>\n

Anyone aged 45 to 65 will also need to fill in a D4<\/a> and send it to the DVLA if it’s been 5 years since you last did so. Send the D4 along with the D2 form.<\/p>\n

In some cases, you will need to provide evidence of your fitness to drive. Check the information stated about this in the letter from the DVLA.<\/p>\n

When Can You Start Driving Again?<\/h2>\n

Different rules apply as to when you can drive again after losing a driver’s licence. It will depend on whether:<\/p>\n
