The fee for a UK passport will be different for British nationals who apply from another country.<\/p>\n
You should use the process for overseas British passport applications<\/a> if you are applying from abroad.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n You have a choice if you are in the United Kingdom when you apply. You can make an application online or use postal methods to get your first adult passport.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n In fact, you can use the normal passport application service to apply for an adult passport<\/a> and pay for it online.<\/p>\n You will need to print off the application form and then fill it in. Check the details and send it with any supporting documents to the HM Passport Office address written on the form.<\/p>\n Note<\/strong>: If you fill in the application form online you will not be able to use the Passport Check and Send service.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n There are two ways to get the paper application form if you want to apply for an adult passport by postal methods:<\/p>\n \nPassport Adviceline<\/strong> If you use the paper form you will need to fill in sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and section 9. A ‘countersignatory’ needs to fill in section ten (10) and certify the photograph<\/a>.<\/p>\n Note<\/strong>: HM Passport Office has produced a booklet as a help guide. It explains how to fill in a passport application form<\/a> and provide the correct photo.<\/p>\n There are two methods of sending in a first adult passport application form. If so, they will contact you and ask you to attend one of their passport interviews.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n In most cases, you will receive your new adult passport by courier or through the Royal Mail.
