You can either:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/visas-immigration.service.gov.uk\/product\/nationality-services\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Apply for a duplicate certificate online<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Apply by postal methods (details below)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong>: If you not have access to a computer (or you are not confident using one) you can get help by telephone or by email to complete the online form.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Help Completing the Form Online<\/strong><br \/>\n Email: <a href=\"mailto:visa@we-are-digital.co.uk\">visa@we-are-digital.co.uk<\/a><br \/>\nText VISA&#8217; to : <a href=\"tex:07537 416 944\">07537 416 944<\/a><br \/>\n Telephone: <a href=\"tel:03333445675\">03333 445 675<\/a><br \/>\nMonday to Friday: 9am to 5pm<\/p>\n<p>There are three basic steps to follow if you want to apply for a citizenship certificate replacement by post:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Download and complete <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/application-for-duplicate-citizenship-certificate-form-nc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Form NC<\/a> to apply for a replacement certificate of registration or naturalisation as a British citizen.<\/li>\n<li>Fill in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/fees-for-citizenship-applications\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">payment slip for citizenship applications<\/a> (e.g. the correct fee for a duplicate certificate). Payment options include credit or debit card or by cheque.<\/li>\n<li>Send both of the completed forms to this address at UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Department 102<\/strong><br \/>\n\tUKVI<br \/>\n\tThe Capital<br \/>\n\tNew Hall Place<br \/>\n\tLiverpool<br \/>\n\tL3 9PP<\/p>\n<p>You must <a href=\"\/rules\/legal\/police\/\">notify the police<\/a> if your citizenship certificate has been stolen.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><\/p>\n<h2>How to Correct a Mistake on a Certificate<\/h2>\n<p>There are three basic steps to follow for correcting mistakes on a citizenship certificate using postal methods:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Download and complete Form NC to apply for the correction of a registration or naturalisation certificate (see above).<\/li>\n<li>Send the completed form along with the original certificate to Department 1 address at UKVI.<\/li>\n<li>You will get a letter from UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) if there is a charge. A fee of \u00a3250 would be due if you made the mistake on the certificate. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Department 1<\/strong><br \/>\n\tUKVI<br \/>\n\tThe Capital<br \/>\n\tNew Hall Place<br \/>\n\tLiverpool<br \/>\n\tL3 9PP<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><\/p>\n<h2>Citizenship Prior to 1st of October 1986<\/h2>\n<p>You can request a search for a certificate of British citizenship 1949-1986 via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalarchives.gov.uk\/contact-us\/request-a-search-for-a-certificate-of-british-citizenship-1949-1986\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The National Archives<\/a>. You would then be able to order a certified copy for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A registration certificate issued between the 1st of January 1949 and the 30th of September 1986.<\/li>\n<li>A naturalisation certificate issued between the 1st of January 1844 and the 30th of September 1986.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong>: People who became a British citizen before October 1986 cannot get a replacement certificate from UKVI.
