Media and Communication

What is the Meaning of Media? Mass communication is the simplest definition of media. It includes many types of broadcasting such as the Internet, newspapers, radio, and television.

MEDIA RULES: Social media has become one of the most popular types.

It focuses on sharing and networking information via websites and other digital applications.

Media regulation is the process of controlling or guiding mass media. Governments and other independent authorities regulate media using drawn up codes of practice.

A huge list of United Kingdom rules and laws govern media and communication, either by law or by legislative procedures.

The principle goals of media and communication are to protect 'public interest' and encourage ethical competition.

An effective media market seeks to establish common technical standards. But, media also involves recorded music, film, and satellite. It includes the storage and distribution of modern technology. It is difficult to image the modern world without the Internet, computers, and mobile phones.

Ironically, certain codes of practice are actually developed and governed by the bodies themselves. They often have statutory powers over the media which they serve. This guide aims to describe and explain how the various codes of practice apply to mass media and modern communication.
