State Pension Forecast Online Checker

There is a new online service that makes a UK State Pension forecast for when you reach State Pension age. You can use it to check your State Pension online.

STATE PENSION CHECKER: Find out how much you could get, when it will be available, and how to increase it.

National Insurance contribution records determine State Pension amounts. The checker service ‘estimates‘ how much you might get when you reach the age for retirement.

The online estimation also provides information about ways of increasing it. This could be important for those with gaps in their NI record.

The service is not for those already receiving their money. Likewise, you cannot use the forecaster if you have delayed (deferred) your State Pension claim.

Note: The State Pension checker is for those who are below the UK State Pension age. The government online service only provides you with an estimate. Sign in using the new GOV.UK Verify or the standard Government Gateway.

State Pension Statement by Phone

There are alternative methods to get a State Pension check. You can apply for a statement by telephone or have it sent by post. Remember, the amount will get based on your National Insurance record at the date you apply.

Reaching State Pension Age in more than 30 Days

Those who will reach retirement age in more than 30 days can make a request for a pension statement. The UK government call it an ‘entitlement notice‘. They will mail the entitlement notice to you. It will show how much pension you would get if you claimed it at that time.
