Football Euro 2016 Rule Changes

UEFA football rules see a major update for Euro Championship 2016. Check out a handful of regulation changes to the laws of the game kicking off this summer in France.

FA Premier League Player Behaviour Rules

The Football Association and English Premier League announce rigorous new soccer rules. New FA regulations now target all displays of 'intolerable behaviour' by players and managers.

Sweeping changes take effect from the 2016/17 EPL football season in a response to the unacceptable levels of poor conduct.

Players are now banned from using offensive language. Confrontation and gestures aimed at match officials can result in red caution cards.

Concerned Premier League regulators are aware that players have overstepped the mark. The new football enforcement even extends to manager behaviour inside pitchside technical areas.

Few, if any, got sent off for using insulting or abusive language towards a match official. Football is competitive, fast, and furious at time. The new FA behaviour rules plan to keep the passion but dismiss poor conduct.

They predict bedlam for the first few games. But, reduced team numbers should soon encourage players to behave!

Two New Red Card Offences

  1. If a player confronts match officials and uses offensive, insulting or abusive language or gestures towards them.
  2. Physical contact with match officials in an aggressive or confrontational manner.

5 New FIFA Football Rules for Euro 2016

Five significant changes will start to take affect for the very first time during the UEFA European Championship. They will stage the matches in several world class soccer stadiums around France.

New UEFA Football Rules Kick Off at Euro 2016They play the Euro 2016 men's quadrennial international football tournament during the hot summer months.

It all begins on the 10th of June and reaching its final climax on July the 10th.

The rule-makers and David Elleray announced 5 principle football regulation changes at Wembley. Elleray is one of most renowned referees in English soccer.

These 5 football rule changes got introduced to increase simplicity and fairness in the game.

There has also been a concerted effort made on ruling out any ingenious cheating performances planned by any of the players.

1. Red Cards Before Kicking Off

Ardent football fans are certain to remember an infamous verbal altercation. It occurred between Patrick Vieira, Gary Neville, and Roy Keane in 2005. The exchange of strong words actually took place inside Arsenal's tunnel ahead of their clash with Manchester United.

New football rules mean that a similar face-off preceding any of the Euro 2016 Championship games could result in a sending off. That could now happen before they even exit the tunnel!

New Rule: A player may get sent off any time after the referee enters the field of play for the pre-match inspection. If that happens, teams can substitute the offending player. So, they would not actually be one man down at the kick-off.

2. FIFA Kickoff Rule Change: Back Pass

The attention switches from the teams playing in the domestic season to the first round of Euro 2016 knockout matches. It appears we have seen the final games where a striker resumes play - after the team concedes a goal - by passing the ball forwards to a teammate.

New Rule: A football match can now start with a backwards pass. France opens the UEFA EURO 2016 Championship on June the 10th against Romania inside the St-Denis stadium. Conceding a goal means play is likely to resume with a back pass.

3. Triple Punishment Ruling

There is a new regulation in football named the 'triple punishment rule'. It relates most to those players who prevent obvious goal-scoring opportunities in the opposition penalty area.

The punishment resulted in a red card and the concession of a penalty kick. A subsequent suspension also got dished out to the offender.

New Rule: June 1st sees the introduction of a new ruling. The same offence may see the red card may get downgraded to a yellow caution. That is providing the referee deems the foul to be an attempt to play the ball.

Note: But, deliberate handball in football and violent conduct remain as red-card infringements.

4. No Feinting at Penalties

It looks like the tactics of penalty-takers' deceiving goalkeepers with a dummy kick as they end their run-up, no longer exists in the game. Some call it cheating. David Elleray singled out Lionel Messi as the worst offender of this trickery.

New Rule: A feint during a penalty kick could now result in a yellow caution card. Soccer lawmakers are attempting to eliminate the early dive by the goalkeeper. This can also earn a yellow warning.

5. Water Hydration Rules

New Rule: Water drink breaks got ruled into games played in very hot and humid conditions. Drink breaks will be most welcome for the players in the UEFA European Championships and FIFA World Cup.
